Original patch made in the US circa. 1960s
Commissioned as a reserve Naval Mobile Construction Battalion in 1961, the 23rd was stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland where they remained until 1977. The battalion saw active wartime service during Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Op. Iraqi Freedom.
