Circa. 1950s, these jackets were made to imitate the classic M-1951 design with some features tailored to the civilian market. There were a number of similar designs made during the same period which included a number of different features such as pile linings, exposed drawstring waist cords, etc.

Some sources indicate that similar jackets were worn by some US Military servicemen as private purchase alternatives to the stand issue field jackets. Particularly in Europe and Stateside where commercial items were more readily available.

This particular iteration is made from a soft heavyweight cotton sateen material and features a warm quilted lining, four main pockets, and a variety of adjustment options. The main closure is secured by way of a chrome zip and snaps.

It is in overall excellent condition with very minor wear from use. Strong colour. The label is present and legible. All fittings and fixtures are present and working.
