Extremely rare Blacks of Greenock brand mountaineering anorak jacket. Designed and manufactured in the 1950s and served as the predecessor to the 1960s/70s British Army Cadet smock. This is an earlier version compared to the more common type with a velcro pocket. This garment also features two button-down lower pockets, an adjustable drawstring waist, zip-up collar, rubberized internal cuffs and a large hood. A beautifully simple, yet utilitarian design.
Overall excellent condition with minor signs of wear. The colour is vibrant and strong with some minor discolouration as seen. No visible blemishes or damage. The original button on one of the pockets has broken, it still functions, but I have included a replacement. All other buttons, zips, fittings and fixtures are present and working.
