Genuine US Air Force issue

A rare 1st pattern CWU-36/P pilot jacket with a pleated back panel. The pleated back was quite quickly removed in future specifications after it caused the death of a pilot. Old stock jackets with pleats were either discarded or pilots would have them sewn up by riggers to avoid similar injury. This example retains its pleats, unaltered, in its original condition.
The 36/P is the summer weight counterpart to the 45/P which has a warmer, quilted lining. An ideal outer garment for layering seasons.
100% sage green flame retardant polyamide
In excellent condition with light signs of wear - Appears unworn. All zips, fittings, and fixtures are present and working. The contract label is present and legible. There is a small hole on the right arm as shown, but this is likely caused by 40+ years in storage.
