Original British Army issue
Dated 1945
A large framed rucksack, known to be used by Royal Marine Commandos, and SAS. There is one large main compartment, secured with a drawstring and large flap with a map pocket inside. There are three more external pockets for smaller items that are secured by buckled webbing straps. Made with a green heavyweight cotton canvas fabric with khaki trim and webbing offering a nice seldom-seen contrast. These later green packs were used during the D-Day landings in Normandy and throughout the final years of World War 2.
In excellent condition with some signs of wear. All straps, fittings and fixtures are present and working as intended. There is some surface rust on metal parts as seen. The leather parts are strong and supple. There is some staining as seen. Please study the photos carefully.
