Original US Military issue
Circa 1940s
The predecessor to the renowned G-1 jacket, this beautiful example of an M-422A displays a superb patina and immense character. The knits are in good condition considering their age despite some light damage that may be repaired. The leather shell is supple and strong. The lining has at some point been replaced with a lovely silk fabric. The mouton fur collar is also in excellent condition and shows only one small spot of wear on the right side as shown. The zip runs smoothly and works fine, but is a little delicate at the bottom as shown. There is shadowing on the left breast from a removed name patch. A great, solid, wearable heritage piece.
