Genuine US Army issue
An originally patched 1940s WW2-era M43 field jacket, displaying a Rangers patch on the left shoulder. The patch is originally applied in a typical fashion; carefully hand stitched, using 100% cotton off-white thread. Only a few stitches perforate the lining behind the patch, while most only go through the outer shell - this has created only light pinching on the reverse, but enough to make out the outline of the diamond, indicating that it has been attached for a long time. The patch and thread have been UV light and burn-tested and are guaranteed original. A rare piece of history.
A name also appears under the collar - "Monte".
The predecessor of all modern field jackets, the M-1943 began its legacy toward the end of WW2 and subsequently saw use throughout the Korean War. Fully lined, features include four large pockets, a button front closure, and plenty of adjustment options. A timeless design for casual autumn and winter wear. This example displays printed instructions under the collar which only appear on early models made under wartime contracts.
In very good condition with signs of real wear and a superb fade pattern - All buttons, fittings, and fixtures are present. There is some sporadic discolouration and staining as seen. The information stamping under the collar is present and mostly legible.
