Genuine British Army issue
Circa. 1940s - Issued toward the end of WW2 and the pattern remained the same until the 1960s. It is difficult to date these without a contract stamp, but due to the fittings, zips, materials and repairs, we are confident that this is a wartime example. The zips are simply stamped with 'MADE IN ENGLAND', and the press studs are 'Newey' brand and show a Patt number. This suit was found together with another tank suit (also for sale separately).
Made from a heavyweight cotton shell, fully lined with wool pile. These suits are covered in pockets, adjustment options, and other funky features. They also have a rather unique closure method consisting of two full-length zips that extend the entire length of the suit, down either leg.
In very good condition with real wear and tonnes of character - There are numerous period repairs as seen. All buttons, fittings, and fixtures are present and working. Some light staining and discolouration as seen.
