Genuine US Military issue
Shell dated 1952. Hood dated 1953.
The grandfather to the all-time Mod classic M65 parka, the M-1951 Extreme Cold Weather Parka features a wind-resistant nylon/cotton oxford fabric shell, synthetic pile 'frieze' liner, and a genuine coyote fur trim hood. Designed to be worn over a combat uniform and equipment, it has a large, oversized fit. Used throughout the Korean War.
A superb example in near-mint condition with very light wear - All buttons, zips, fittings and fixtures are present and working. The contract stamps are clearly visible. The wire in the hood is intact. The coyote fur trim is in good condition with no mottling but is slightly brittle and may require some care when handling, this is not unusual considering that it is over 70 years old. All components are in excellent condition and the parka appears unworn.
