Genuine US Military issue
Circa 1950s
100% cotton herringbone twill (HBT)
This shirt displays originally applied insignia including a silk gold-on-black jacquard woven US Army branch tape and a stamped black-on-white name tape. There is a US 8th Service Corps SSI on the left shoulder and Staff Sergeant rank insignia on either sleeve. Looking under the rank insignia, there is evidence of previously applied Specialist rank chevrons - McWilliam was promoted, then stitched his new rank directly over the old.
Excellent condition with light signs of real wear and a subtle fade pattern - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. There are some light sporadic stain and discolouration. There is a tiny hole on the back of the right shoulder.
