Genuine US Military issue
Dated 1961
The M-1951 field jacket carried over several design aspects and features from its predecessor, the M-1943. The overall design is very similar, with a few key elements that were added or improved upon. Notably, the main front closure is secured with a zip, covered by a snap-fastener-lined flap and the pockets are also secured with snap-fasteners.
The Olive Green 107 (OG-107) shell is a treated 9-ounce wind-resistant cotton sateen, lined with a lightweight wind-resistant cotton poplin. During the 1960s, many officers preferred the sharper look of the M-1951 instead of the then-standard M-1965 jacket.
Excellent condition with light signs of real wear and subtle fade pattern - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. Some sporadic discolouration and light stains as seen. There are some sporadic repairs and light spots of wear. The inside of the lining on the left side has some damage as shown, but this is entirely invisible when the jacket is worn.
