Genuine US Military issue

Circa. 1960s

An early 1st pattern (P58) utility shirt with squared pockets and brown dish buttons. Made from a soft, midweight 100% cotton selvedge sateen with a full-length button front closure and two chest pockets. Early contracts were stamped under the collar and later, a contract label was affixed to the inside-lower closure flap.

This shirt displays originally applied insignia including a silk gold-on-black jacquard woven US Army branch tape and an embroidered black-on-white name tape. There is a 7th Army SSI and Private chevrons on the sleeves.

Excellent condition with signs of real wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. Nice patina with some light discolouration/fading as seen. There are a few minor blemishes on the bottom hem and a stain on the back as seen.
