Original US Military issue
A fantastic originally patched Special Forces Jungle Jacket worn by Eugene J Lewandowski. This jacket came from a large grouping of uniforms, patched similarly. The name written on the size label only appears on this jacket which was reissued to Lewandowski after being worn by "Gordon H".
Through a collaborative effort with other historians and collectors, we were able to verify that this grouping is matched with Eugene J Lewandowski's military career. By cross-referencing the awards displayed on the jackets with military records and newspaper articles from 1966-1971, we established a near-certain match. Other jackets in the grouping display a Pathfinder patch on the left breast pocket and an Expert Infantryman's Badge above the left breast pocket.
With information retrieved from newspaper articles, Lewandowski served with 'A' Detachment, 4th Battalion, 12th Special Forces Group (USAR). He retired a Lt Col.
The jacket is decorated with period-applied patches, displaying the career of a committed Special Forces officer.
