A stunning uniform set, composed of a shirt and trousers, made in a utility cut. This set was tailor-made for a US Marine in Okinawa, Japan, and is made from repurposed USMC-issue Mitchell pattern shelter half material. It displays the green “Vine Leaf” pattern on the exterior and the brown “Cloud” pattern on the interior.
These custom-made suits were popular among Marine Advisors very early in the Vietnam War, and we approximate this set to be of early 1960s vintage.
It displays US-issue brown plastic buttons and is constructed using a 100% cotton naturally-dyed thread.
Excellent condition with signs of real wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present and working. There is some light sporadic discolouration and staining as seen. There is some other light, sporadic wear as seen, please study the photos carefully.
