Original US Military issue
100% cotton non-ripstop poplin
A 3rd pattern Tropical Combat Coat, heavily modified by a tailor to resemble a 1st pattern utility shirt. The bottom pockets were removed, sleeves shortened, and upper pockets modified to a basic exposed button patch pocket. It displays originally applied Vietnamese-made Lieutenant rank insignia on the collar. A truly unique piece.
Dated 1967
Very good condition with light signs of wear and staining - All buttons, fittings, and fixtures are present. The contract label is present and legible. There is some staining on the lower front as seen, but this will be invisible if tucked or shortened and hemmed. There are some small holes and stitch marks from the removed pockets.
