Circa. 1960s
Midweight 100% cotton selvedge twill
A beautiful tigerstripe pattern known as 'Tadpole Sparse (TDS)' with the Johnson nomenclature, otherwise known as 'Silver' by some collectors. Introduced in 1964, this pattern was worn by US and ARVN forces until the end of the Vietnam War.
Made from an outstanding, soft Japanese midweight 100% cotton selvedge twill. It has bold black shapes and this example has a cool colourway with silvery hues. The shirt is made in an Asian cut with exposed single-button pockets.
The colours on both components are very close match.
Near-mint condition with very light wear - Appear unworn - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. Strong colours. The size label on the shirt is present and legible. There is some very light sun bleaching on the collar and left shoulder from storage.
