Vietnamese tailor-made
Circa 1960s
This jacket is an entirely custom tailor-made piece of exceptional quality, made by an experienced craftsman. Modelled after the US-issue Tropical Combat Uniform (Jungle Jacket), it is made with USGI 100% cotton ripstop poplin printed with the green-dominant M-1948 (adapted) ERDL pattern. It features two lower inverted pleated pockets, made in a style similar to the TCU, but the breast pockets are of a style more typical of a utility shirt. Quite an unusual design, but practical nonetheless. Made for a US airman, it displays originally applied Vietnamese-made branch and name tapes.
Excellent condition with very light signs of wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. Strong colours.
