A genuine Zenith brand lighter with original engravings

Circa 1960s, Zenith lighters were a popular alternative to Zippo lighters and were available to purchase at PXs and local markets. This example displays the country of Vietnam with notable locations on one side. The other side displays the text "VIETNAM BIENHOA 68-69" indicating where the original owner served and his years in-country.

During this period, the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, as well as elements of the 101st Airborne Division and 173rd Airborne Brigade, were stationed in Bien Hoa. This period also encompasses the Tet Offensive, during which Bien Hoa was a major target.

Beneath, there is added text that reads "THE MORE DAYS YOU'VE BEEN IN THE ARMY THE MORE HELLS YOU'VE GOTTEN!" - This was likely added at a later date as the script is different to the rest of the lighter.

Petrol lighter, shipped without fuel. Needs a new flint - Please note that some minor refurbishment may be necessary to make it function.
