Original US Military issue

100% cotton non-ripstop poplin

A superb example of a 1st pattern Tropical Combat Coat with exposed buttons, epaulettes, waist adjustment tabs on the rear, and gas flap under the main closure. Displaying wartime, all originally applied, full-colour US-made insignia, including a MAC SSI, silk gold-on-black US Army branch tape, and a cotton stamped black-on-white name tape.

This jacket was likely worn by a MACV advisor, circa 1962-1964. A very early Vietnam War period uniform.

Excellent condition with light signs of wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. The contract label is present but faded. There is a small break in the fabric over the left breast pocket. There is some other light sporadic staining & discolouration as seen.
