Circa. 1960s
A striking tigerstripe pattern known as 'Tadpole Dense' (TDD) with the Johnson nomenclature, otherwise known as 'TO78' or Taiwan pattern 'by some collectors. Introduced in 1970, this pattern was worn by US and ARVN forces until the end of the Vietnam War.
Made from a midweight 100% cotton twill. It has bold black shapes with a dark, subdued colourway with purple hues.
Very good condition with some signs of real wear - Some light sporadic paint stains. The colours have faded beautifully and the black shapes have adopted that iconic purple hue. The TO78 stamp is present and legible. All buttons are present.
