Circa. 1960s

A beautiful tigerstripe pattern known as 'Tadpole Sparse (TDS)' with the Johnson nomenclature, otherwise known as 'Silver' by some collectors. Introduced in 1964, this pattern was worn by US and ARVN forces until the end of the Vietnam War.

Made from an outstanding, soft Japanese midweight 100% cotton selvedge twill. It has bold shapes and silvery hues. This shirt is made in an Asian cut with exposed single-button pockets.

Lightly distressed with an absolutely beautiful fade pattern and signs of real wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. One small repair on the lower-right front, and another under the left arm. The black shapes have faded into an iconic purple hue that only appears with the natural dyes used during the period. There are some small sporadic holes/spots of wear as seen. Please study the photographs carefully.
