Circa. 1960s

Midweight 100% cotton selvedge twill

A beautiful classic tigerstripe pattern known as 'Tadpole Sparse (TDS)' with the Johnson nomenclature, otherwise known as 'Silver' by some collectors. Introduced in 1964, this pattern was worn by US and ARVN forces until the end of the Vietnam War.

Made from an outstanding, soft Japanese midweight 100% cotton selvedge twill. It has bold black shapes and this example has a cool colourway with silvery hues. This shirt is made in an Anglo (US) cut with double-button pockets.

Very good condition with signs of real wear, a lovely wear pattern and superb character - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. The size stamp is present and legible. There is some sporadic discolouration and staining as seen. There are two small holes on the back of the left shoulder as shown.
