Circa. 1960s
A beautiful tigerstripe pattern known as 'Tadpole Sparse (TDS)' with the Johnson nomenclature, otherwise known as 'Silver' by some collectors. Introduced in 1964, this pattern was worn by US and ARVN forces until the end of the Vietnam War.
Made from an outstanding, soft Japanese midweight 100% cotton selvedge twill. It has bold black shapes and this example has a cool colourway with silvery hues. This shirt is made in an Asian cut with covered single-button pockets.
Truly excellent condition with very minor signs of wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. Strong colours. The size stamp is present and legible.
