Original British Military issue

A fantastic example of the classic Middle parka, complete with an original hood. Developed in the 1950s, the Middle parka is the British counterpart to the US Army's M51 and M65 fishtail parkas and saw an approximate service life of 20 years, throughout the Korean War and The Troubles in Ireland.

This example was manufactured under MoD contract by H.Lotery & Co. Made from cotton sateen with a thick synthetic fur lining. The main front closure is secured with a 'bottle green' AZF-brand zip. The matching hood was made by James Smith & Co. and includes a drawstring with wooden ball stoppers for easy handling with gloves and the internal wire remains intact.

In excellent overall condition with minor wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present and working. The synthetic fur lining has some mottling as seen, but this will be entirely invisible when worn. The metal buckles on the cuffs have some surface rust. There is a very small hole on the back as shown. There is some very light sporadic staining/discolouration as seen.
