Genuine British Army issue No.1 Mk.1 Infrared Night Vision Goggles. The price includes two empty metal storage containers that originally contained the image converter tubes.

Designed to fit on a Mk.IV 'Turtle' helmet, these goggles were mostly worn by armoured vehicle drivers and logistics vehicle drivers with vehicles fitted with IR flood lights. These goggles work by converting infrared light into visible light. A picture is displayed on the back of the tubes and there are adjustable lenses on either end that can be focused for a clear picture. At night, these goggles may be used with an infrared illuminator such as a simple IR flashlight.
They will fit other hard headwear such as an American M1 helmet.
In overall excellent cosmetic condition, they are tested and working with slight defects. The goggles power on and all parts are present. The left tube displays a bright, mostly clear picture and it focuses well - it has a small dim spot in the centre as shown. The right tube is damaged and shows half a clear picture, the other half is distorted as shown. Both tubes power on fine, are bright and focus well.
The goggles accept 'MULLARD QDD CV6099' tubes which may still be found in NOS condition at other retailers. The existing damaged tubes can easily be replaced for a fully working set with a clear picture. The asking price accommodates the damaged tube.
