Original US Military issue
100% cotton ripstop poplin
A 3rd pattern Tropical Combat Coat with a back yoke and straight cuffs.
An originally patched Special Forces Jungle Jacket, worn by a Vietnam Veteran in the immediate post-war period. It displays originally applied insignia, including a Special Forces SSI with Airborne tab, 23rd Infantry Division patch on the right shoulder (indicating prior wartime service in Vietnam), Jungle Expert patch, nylon US Army branch tape, a Basic Parachutists Badge (Jump Wings) patch, a Combat Infantryman Badge patch, 1st Lieutenant collar rank, and an Infantry branch collar patch. A dedicated and qualified Special Forces officer.
The upper pocket flaps have been modified with press studs for a sharper look. It is fully patched and kept clean - This was likely the original owner's "Base Jacket".
Excellent condition with light signs of wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. The contract label is present and legible. Some fading/discolouration is present. There is a small hole under the lower right pocket, near the contract label as shown (invisible when worn). There is a small amount of damage under the button on the left cuff, but it is mostly unnoticeable when the jacket is worn.
