100% cotton

The USS Rathburne stencil appears on the back of the jersey.

The USS Rathburne (FF-1057) was commissioned on the 16th of May, 1970 and was deployed to Vietnam three times. She participated in Operation Frequent Wind, the final phase of the Vietnam War where Americans and "high-risk" Vietnamese citizens were evacuated from the warzone following the fall of Saigon and the North Vietnamese victory over the south.

She had a helicopter landing pad on the rear of the vessel which accommodated an unmanned QH-50 DASH (Drone Anti-Submarine Helicopter). This jersey was worn by a sailor who worked on this landing pad. Final images show the USS Rathburne circa 1970s, and the flight deck of the USS Hancock (CVA-19) during Op. Frequent Wind with sailors wearing similar flight deck jerseys.

Very good condition with signs of real wear - Some light staining and discolouration as seen. There are a few very small sporadic holes as shown. The contract label is present but faded.
