A lovely, original USN deck jacket - Genuine US military issue
Dated 1984
Used throughout the 1960s and into the 1990s, these jackets are the ideal basic winter warmer with a thick synthetic pile lining and robust cotton/nylon shell. A simple design with great potential.
A really amazing example, this A-2 shows stencilling on the back that corresponds to the USS Alaska (SSBN-732), a US Navy Ohio-Class Ballistic Missile Nuclear Submarine with less than 200 crewmembers onboard at any given time. Items, particularly deck jackets that pertain to submarines are very difficult to find.
In excellent overall very good with minor wear - All buttons, zips, fittings, and fixtures are present and working. The contract label is present and legible. The knitted cuffs are in excellent condition with no damage. The zip runs smoothly. Some obvious paint stains and some light discolouration on the left side.
