Genuine US Air Force issue
Dated 1977
A very rare 1st pattern CWU-36/P pilots jacket with a pleated back panel. The pleated back was quite quickly removed in future specifications after it caused the death of a pilot. Old stock jackets with pleats were either discarded or pilots would have them sewn up by riggers to avoid similar injury. This example retains its pleats, unaltered, in its original condition.
The 36/P is the summer weight counterpart to the 45/P which has a warmer, quilted lining.
100% sage green flame retardant polyamide
In overall excellent condition with minor wear- All zips, fittings, and fixtures are present and working. The contract label is present and legible. There are some minor glue stains on the back of the right arm as seen.
