A stunning vintage reproduction of the WW2 A-2 leather flight jacket made in the USA by Eastman Leather Co.
Made with beautiful vegetable-dyed Italian horsehide leather shell with a period-correct tobacco brown 196/90 Type VI Oxford cotton lining. The knitted cuffs and waist are 100% wool, the correct shade and historically correct weave density. It displays a genuine Talon brand zip. All aspects of this jacket are reproduced to a supreme standard and are of incredibly high quality.
The jacket appears to have been over-dyed at some point which has produced a magnificent wear pattern, displaying the original lighter brown in areas of higher wear. This jacket was clearly well-worn and loved by its previous owner.
Excellent condition with light wear and a couple of repairs - The leather is perfectly broken in with a striking patina - it is supple and soft with decades of life left in it. The zip runs smoothly and all other snaps, fittings, and fixtures are present and working. The knitted cuffs and waist are in excellent condition with no holes or damage. The stitchwork is superb with no signs of fraying or looseness. The contract label is present and legible. USAAF stamps on the lining are visible. There is a professionally-made repair on the collar and another underneath that adds a layer of rugged character to this piece.
