A superb, genuine British Army para helmet, dated 1944, made by BMB (Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd.). Found recently in Northern Ireland.

The helmet is named to "Byrne", a guardsman. His service number is 23495791. With this information, I was able to find his years of service, which were from May 1956 to October 1960. This information is written on the sweatband - The full text reads "23495791 / GUARDSMAN / BYRNE /"

The shell was repainted for post-war use and displays an originally applied Guards Division flash on the right side.

All parts are present, including all canvas webbing and leather chincup. Everything is in very good condition, considering the age of the helmet. All components are strong and have plenty of life left in them. An excellent display item from a niche period of post-war history.

The size markings are slightly too worn to read accurately, but it is either a size 7 1/4 or 7 1/2.
