Genuine US Military issue
Dated 1952
The M-1951 field jacket carried over a number of design aspects and features from its predecessor, the M-1943. The overall design is very similar, with only a few key elements that were added or improved upon. The main front closure is secured with a chromed zip, covered by a snap-fastener-lined flap and the pockets are also secured with snap-fasteners.
The Olive Green 107 (OG-107) shell is a treated 9-ounce wind-resistant cotton sateen, lined with a lightweight wind-resistant cotton poplin. There are buttons that accommodate a removable insulated liner that can be attached for colder weather. During the 1960s, many officers preferred the sharper look of the M-1951 instead of the then-standard M-1965 jacket.
This early example features wool pile-lined hand warmer pockets which were omitted in later contracts.
Excellent condition with very minor signs of wear - All buttons, fittings, and fixtures are present. The contract is present and legible. Appears unworn. Some very light discolouration from storage and recent washing.
