A standard issue boonie hat made from an OG-107 ripstop cotton poplin - issued as part of the Tropical Combat Uniform. These hats were issued with a head net, designed to be worn under the hat for protection against mosquitoes and other flying insects. It has a nylon herringbone foliage band, two metal mesh screen eyelets on either side for ventilation, and a nylon lace chinstrap with a rectangular leather stopper. Made by the ‘Society Brand Hat Co.’, this example was produced under a 1968-dated contract.
