Circa. 1940s
Made from a 100% mid-weight selvedge Herringbone Twill (HBT)
Spec. '45B' jackets are a rarer counterpart to the more commonly seen, later specification '45D' jacket. It is the first specification of the '2nd Pattern' HBT jacket and was only produced for a short period between late-1942 to early-1943. These earlier jackets are often dyed with a much lighter 'Sage Green' shade compared to later contracts that were more often dyed with a more consistent 'OD-7 shade. It has a pleated back with a back yoke and no gas flap under the main closure.
This example displays metal '5-Star Wreath' buttons, a 1960s subdued 'US ARMY' branch tape and a 1950s 83rd Infantry Division patch. The insignia has been attached for some time, but are likely retrofitted.
Excellent condition with minor signs of real wear - All buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. Nice patina with some light discolouration/fading as seen. Some staining on the left arm as seen.
