A rather anomalous rucksack that after some discussion with other collectors and reenactors, we have determined it is a tailor-made rucksack based on the British-issue 44 Pattern of Hong Kong origin. It is assumed this was made around the 1950s-1960s, perhaps for a serviceman serving in Malaya or Indonesia.

It is well made and has a solid construction, made with a thick cotton duck canvas with metal fittings.

It is in excellent condition with light wear as seen. One of the metal buckles on the front pocket has broken through the fabric, but it is still functional and bears little aesthetic issue. One of the metal grommets around the main closure is missing as seen, but this does not significantly impede form or function. Please study the photographs carefully.
