A lovely, original USN deck jacket - Genuine US military issue
Dated 1966
Genuine uS military issue
Circa 1960s
This is a rare early production 1st pattern A-2 deck jacket with a triangular pocket flap. Issued throughout the Vietnam War, it shows light signs of real wear and has great character while maintaining a good, wearable condition.
Influenced by its predecessors, the N-1 and N-4, the A-2 carries over several tried-and-true design features that create a robust basic cold weather jacket. It features a wind and rain-resistant NyCo blend shell, insulated with a thick synthetic pile lining. There is a full-length Conmar brand brass zip with a button-secured storm flap for improved weather resistance. A simple design with great styling potential.
In excellent condition with light signs of real wear - All buttons, zips fittings and fixtures are present and working. The contract label is present but faded. The knitted cuffs are in near-pristine condition. There is one small repair on the back of the right outer cuff as shown. Strong colour.
