A rare piece of Canadian Military history. Among other camo prints, the Canadian Army trialled a British-style DPM camouflage in the 1980s for a very short period. Few of these uniforms were ever made and they were issued on a limited basis to officers etc. The design of the jacket is identical to the standard Canadian Army Lightweight Combat Uniform and is made from a lightweight nylon/cotton fabric with four pockets, a button front closure and a drawstring waist.
There was another similar uniform that was manufactured later and in more numerous quantities that were made to be sent to Tanzania. These uniforms were based upon the experimental type, but have a few additional features and include labels with more nomenclature. The earlier experimental uniforms (such as this one) are identifiable by the blank white cotton label under the collar as seen.
This example is in excellent condition with some wear as seen - The front shows some light staining as seen. All buttons, fittings & fixtures are present and working. No holes, tears or rips.
