A Thai-made slouch/cowboy hat, originally worn by a member of 556th Civil Engineer Squadron, RED HORSE (Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineer). Based in U-Tapao Air Base, Thailand between 1966 - 1969. The hat is made from a lightweight ripstop nylon material and features a cotton sateen trim, a vinyl sweatband and two mesh screen eyelets on either side of the crown for ventilation.

The hat displays the following additions:
Thai-made patches that read ‘RED HORSE’, ‘RED HORSE THAILAND’, ‘556 C.E. SQ RED HORSE’ and a US-made Meyer Inc. Red Horse DI pin.

Overall very good condition with signs of real wear as seen - There is some slight deformation and the snaps on the brim/crown no longer function properly. The brim has been sewn to the crown to maintain shape.
