Genuine US Military issue
Dated 1983 - A third pattern M65 jacket with straight cuffs, brass zip, and epaulettes.
50/50 nylon/cotton blend wind-resistant sateen shell. Fully lined.
The ultimate field jacket. The M65 was first introduced in 1965 and continued to serve in the US Military until the late 2010s. It features a zip & snap front closure, four large pockets, adjustable cuffs and waist, an internal hood, and buttons to fit a removable liner.
The white tape over the right breast pocket is indicative of use during Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS). The "141" number is the candidate's unique roster number - throughout the selection process, this number is how his superiors would identify and refer to him. This practice continues to the present - The final three images show the same white tapes used in a more modern setting.
Excellent condition with light wear - All zips, buttons, fittings and fixtures are present. The contract label is present and legible. There is a small stain on the collar and another on the back as seen. There is some light shadowing from removed patches.
